Devyn’s interest in grooming began long before she picked up a pair of grooming scissors.
“I think what started my grooming passion was when I was dog showing,” she says. “Seeing all the different breeds and what could be done with them.”
That experience sparked an appreciation for breed-specific grooming styles and the artistry involved in bringing out the best in every dog.
Meet Pepper and Aussie
Like many of us at Furbaby Pet Care, Devyn’s love of animals extends well beyond work.
She shares her home with two dogs:
• Pepper, her Lab mix
• Aussie, her Blue Heeler
Living with dogs every day gives her an even greater appreciation for the trust families place in their groomer.

“My favourite part of grooming is seeing all the different dogs and their unique personalities.”
Every appointment is a little different, and that’s exactly what she loves. Whether a dog is playful, shy, curious or full of energy, she enjoys getting to know each one and making them feel welcome.
A Soft Spot for Fluffy Dogs
While Devyn enjoys grooming dogs of all breeds and sizes, she admits she has a favourite.
“I love grooming Golden Retrievers. Really anything with a fluffy haircut.”
From brushing and de-shedding to beautifully finished trims, fluffy coats allow her to combine precision with creativity while helping dogs stay healthy and comfortable.
Helping Dogs Feel Comfortable
A successful grooming appointment isn’t just about the finished result—it’s also about how a dog feels throughout the visit.
Devyn believes building trust starts with creating a relaxed atmosphere.
“I feel like if I get kinda goofy with the dogs, it helps a lot. I also love talking to them and telling them everything.”
Sometimes a calm voice, a little humour and plenty of patience are exactly what a nervous pup needs.

She enjoys riding her horses, spending time with family and friends, and visiting the shooting range.
