There is a distinct, golden magic to a calm Saskatoon summer morning before the city fully wakes up for the day. At Furbaby Pet Care, our mobile pet care in Saskatoon begins long before most people reach for their first cup of coffee.

Our Mobile Care Supervisor, Grace, is already mapping out her route for the day. As the driving force behind Furbaby’s Mobile Division, her trunk is packed with extra leashes, fresh water bowls, and a brewing excitement for the day’s main mission: bringing elite, customized pet care straight to your doorstep.

Don’t get us wrong, we absolutely adore our bustling 9,000 square foot indoor campus! But we also know that for many of our furry family members, the familiar sights, sounds, and smells of their own home is the type of comfort where they truly thrive. Whether it’s a neighborhood walk, a personalized home pet sitter, or a safe ride to a vet appointment in our Pet Taxi, Grace ensures your fur baby gets the exact attention they need when you aren’t around.

What makes Grace the absolute perfect pilot for this division is her deep roots on our campus. Before taking the wheel as Mobile Supervisor, she actually started out with no formal animal care experience. While she does have a few pets of her own, she spent a few years working in our play parks, caring for the campus cats, and managing the fast-paced intake desk. “It was the best training for actively doing mobiles that I could imagine,” Grace told me as we prepared for a busy day ahead.

To show you exactly how this premium doorstep service works, I spent the day riding shotgun with Grace just to see how Furbaby brings that signature campus love and care right to your home.

Stop 1: Mobile Pet Care in Saskatoon Begins with Six Feline Friends

Grace starts the day caring for Ollie, Winter, Chomp, Penelope, Freddy and Mercury during a morning mobile visit

Our first destination brought us to a bustling, multi-pet household to check in on a fabulous crew of six cats: Ollie, Winter, Chomp, Penelope, Freddy, and Mercury. For a large pet family, morning routines can be a lot to handle before a long workday, but Grace stepped in flawlessly. During the quiet, golden hour of the morning, she managed a full checklist! Safely administering medications for two of the kitties, topping up food and fresh water bowls, scooping litter boxes, and handing out treats. Penelope proved to be an absolute goofball, zooming around for morning playtime, while Chomp had two major priorities: chomping down on breakfast and soaking up endless belly scratches.

It was hard to pull ourselves away, but once the whole checklist was cleared and we got some playtime in, we said our goodbyes. Knowing this wonderful crew was safe and cared for, we checked our route map and set off for our next stop of the day.

Stop 2: Curiosities, Cuddles, and Siamese Siblings

Fiona and Finnegan show how in-home visits can help cats remain comfortable in familiar surroundings

Next up, we visited a stunning pair of Siamese cats named Fiona and Finnegan. This stop perfectly highlights what a true all-in-one pet concierge service looks like. While their parents were busy out of the house, we arrived to provide specialized feeding, environment checks, and vital mental stimulation. Fiona was an instant social butterfly. She was incredibly active, curious, and utterly obsessed playing with Grace’s shoes! Though, Finnegan was a little more reserved at first, feeling a bit nervous about having me, a stranger, in his space, but Grace’s gentle approach won him over completely.

She explained that building instant trust in a quiet home environment is a deliberate, delicate art. “I start talking as soon as I walk in the door so they know I’m there and where I am,” she shared. For more shy or sensitive pets like Finnegan, she shifts into a slow, calm presence, letting the pet choose to approach her while reading their body language. It’s a strategy that turns nervous energy into a more relaxed companionship

Watching Finnegan completely relax and accept head scratches was the perfect reminder of why in-home care is such a gamechanger for sensitive pets. By the end of our visit, we confirmed the house was locked down and both kitties were completely content and hopped back into the mobile unit to collect our next passenger for a big trip to the dog park!

Stop 3: Chasing Frisbees with Beatrice

Beatrice was all smiles during her dog park adventure with Grace

Switching gears from feline friends to high-energy canine adventures, we headed out to collect the beautiful black Lab, Beatrice, for a midday excursion.

The moment we knocked on the door, Beatrice let out yelps of pure joy. She knew exactly what the Furbaby vehicle parked out front meant.

We pulled up to the local dog park, and Beatrice immediately transformed into a non-stop fetching machine, chasing her favourite green frisbee across the grass. We completed three full laps around the park, and her tail never stopped wagging. Between intense games of fetch, she did her best to sneak drinks from mud puddles, but Grace quickly redirected her attention back to fresh water and her beloved toys.

Watching her sprint around with so much happiness was easily one of the highlights of the day. By the end of our third lap, she was sporting that classic, drool-filled Labrador smile, completely content and wearing a little bit of honourable dog park dirt.

It’s no secret that dog park visits and active training walks are among Grace’s favourite mobile services to provide.

In fact, the road has a funny way of showing her just how much she means to the local pet community. She shared a recent story about a mobile walk where, within just 45 minutes, she encountered five different dogs she knew from campus and previous home visits. Every one of them erupted into excitement and instant zoomies just to say hello.

Stop 4: Cruising in the Pet Taxi with Shelly

Shelly relaxes during her Pet Taxi ride back into Saskatoon

Our afternoon took us just a short distance outside the Saskatoon city limits for a specialized Pet Taxi mission. Joining us was a precious hound named Shelly, who was wrapping up her time at daycare. Our goal? Safely chauffeuring her back into the city so she could spend the rest of the day at work with her aunt!

From the second she hopped in, Shelly proved to be a seasoned road-trip professional. She gently laid down in the back seat, completely relaxed, full of smiles, and looking out the window as the Saskatchewan scenery rolled by. I kept turning around from the passenger seat to offer plenty of cuddles, and my hand cracked a permanent spot holding her paw the entire trip. She was just so gentle and sweet, perfectly content to lounge while we handled the driving.

Life gets incredibly busy, and sometimes logistically, you just can’t be in two places at once. Whether it’s a ride to an aunt’s office or a crucial vet appointment, Furbaby’s pet taxi ensures your pet is treated like absolute family. We dropped a happy, pampered Shelly off at her destination, ready to assist her aunt for the rest of the afternoon, before heading to our final stop for the day!

Stop 5: Ending the Shift with Two High-Energy Goofballs

Noisy and Poutine wrapped up the day with plenty of entertainment and laughter

We wrapped up our day on the road with an incredibly fun house call to a pair of chaotic and loving siblings: Noisy and Poutine.

These two felines are the definition of comedy.

The moment we walked through the door, they were thrilled to have an audience. They raced back and forth at top speed, proudly showing off their favourite toys and impressive climbing skills.

Apparently, Grace’s footwear is quite the topic in the Saskatoon cat community. Just like Fiona earlier in the day, Noisy and Poutine were completely fascinated by her shoes.

Watching them zoom around the living room and attempt to tackle Grace’s shoelaces was the perfect way to end the shift.

After plenty of energetic playtime, soothing head scratches, and one final check of their food, water, and home security, we left the two goofballs happy and relaxed. We’re positive they got their well-earned afternoon nap!
