Itโ€™s hard to believe we are already in the heart of another busy Saskatchewan summer. Summer pet care in Saskatoon takes on a special meaning this time of year as families head to the lake, plan vacations, and juggle busy schedules.

As I look around Furbaby this season, what stands out most are the incredible relationships we’ve built with all of you. Whether we’re catching up in the lobby during morning drop-off or caring for your furry family members while you’re away on a well-deserved vacation, being a trusted part of your family’s summer is truly one of the greatest privileges for our entire team.

Summer Pet Boarding in Saskatoon: Book Early!

Summer is always our busiest time of year, and our campus has been buzzing with activity!

Whether you’re one of our longtime families planning another getaway or a new client looking for a trusted home-away-from-home for your pet, we want to ensure every guest enjoys a fun, safe, and loving experience.

If you have travel plans for August or September, we encourage you to book as soon as possible. Spaces are filling quickly, and our priority is always maintaining safe staff-to-pet ratios and providing individualized care for every guest who stays with us.

Summer Pet Safety Tips for Saskatoon Families

As anyone living in Saskatchewan knows, this summer has been exceptionally warm.

While our team works hard to balance outdoor fun with indoor rest and cooling breaks, these temperatures are a good reminder that pets need a little extra care both at home and on campus.

Here are a few important reminders to help keep your pets safe and comfortable during these hot summer days:

The 7-Second Pavement Check

  • Asphalt and concrete can retain significant heat.
  • Place the back of your hand on the pavement for seven seconds. If it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for your pet’s sensitive paw pads.

Beat the Humidity

  • Humidity can make it much harder for dogs to cool themselves through panting.
  • Keep outdoor activities shorter during the hottest parts of the day, seek out shaded areas whenever possible, and always ensure fresh, cool water is available.

Choose Indoor Enrichment

  • On particularly hot or humid days, consider swapping vigorous outdoor exercise for mental stimulation indoors.
  • Frozen Kongs, lick mats, puzzle toys, and training games are wonderful ways to keep dogs engaged while reducing the risk of overheating.

Here for Your Pets All Summer Long

Being part of your family’s summer memories is something we never take for granted.

No matter what the rest of the season brings, our team is here to ensure your furry family members are safe, comfortable, and loved.

Whether your pets are visiting us on campus or being cared for through our mobile pet services, we remain available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

We look forward to seeing you and your pups in the lobby soon.
